Cork

Cork

So we went to Cork so I can redeem the voucher that I won during the Bake- off competition at the Ballymaloe. But the voucher only for one night. I have to say this trip is the most relax holiday I ever have.

We travel to Cork so I decided to stay in Travelodge. I have to say I love Travelodge because the bathroom have bathtub at a very reasonable price and also parking. Won’t complain about the bed and room because they very clean and neat.

After check in we went for a quick bite at the café in the Travelodge.

Ramen for dinner. A friend of us work there  but we thought the restaurant in the town but it’s actually outside town but close to the Cork University. Food was awesome. Even Umar loves it.

We went to Ballymaloe next day. Didn’t realise the place is very private. Suit whoever to want to relax. It’s beautiful. The food is tasty. Probably will have to go there again because I have another voucher to redeem.

There’s play area for Umar. There’s also swimming pool but I think it’s a bit public so not suitable for mummy. But that’s ok because Umar happy with the sand area and the slide.

No tv, internet coverage very low and kids not allowed in dining hall after 7. We end up order room service because don’t really want go out because not familiar with the road and street. The 7 meal room service was really nice.

We went for another walk around the city next day. We had kebab.

Pisa Florence Rome

2 weeks in Italy

We were there before Christmas until after New Year’s Eve. How long is that.

We flew to Pisa so we can see the Pisa tower. But we only managed to see the tower on the next day since we only arrive at the night before.

Then we took an hour train to Florence. I love Florence. So many good foods. We also met Afiq, he work and study there and he invited us for pasta. How lovely.

Piaza Michaelangelo – The statue

Duomo – Duomo are everywhere

Ponte Vecchio – The bridge with lots of market

Most of shops in European country closed on Sunday. We were a bit worry if we wouldn’t find anything to eat on Christmas day. But lucky us we found food.

Then we took 3 hours train to Rome the day after Xmas. So many things to do in Rome. The Colloseum, the fountain, the Panther, the Spanish Steps and lots of shopping outlet too. I got my very 1st Louis Vuitton here too. When you see even dog wearing LV you definitely want one of them. I had so much fun visiting those boutiques

German

The German visit 2009
August - Summer
Since Zu is going to go home for good this year she wanted to visit Ain in Achen, Germany. I think we flew to Koln and Ain and husband fetch us and brought us to their house. Ain was so nice and I enjoyed her hospitality so much. She cooks a lot for us. I remember having delicious karipap, mee bandung and bubur ayam during the stay.

Since their place is very close to Brussels she also took us a trip to Brussels for the chocolate, mannequin pis, grand palace, paella. We also pay a visit to the Brussels mosque at that time.

London 2011

London with Mas

September 2011

Summer – very warm to this pregnant women. Feels like in Malaysia.

Budget accommodations 7 stops away from London city centre by underground

I was around 23 weeks pregnant during the trip. Mas came over from Malaysia so myself and husband showed her around. She has a lot in her list what she wants to do.

1.     Harrods – We went there alrite. Mas spent lots of time at the Harrods souvenir shop. I am happy with the Crispy Crème alrite there. Remember myself and few girlfriends went crazy during boxing day in Harrods few years ago. I’ll blog separately bout that.

2.     King cross station – Mas wasn’t very happy with the station because it’s under renovation. It’s not similar with ¾ stop as in Harry Porter movie. But she went there again few years ago and see it alrite.

3.     Museums – don’t remember visit any

4.     Oxford st – I remember bought new pair of Sandal because suddenly my feet doesn’t fit my shoes due to walking too much. Love the shopping there when I was with my girlfriends. Mas went crazy with the souvenir again.

5.     Madame tussaud – didn’t go due to time constraint

6.     Markets – didn’t go due to time constraint

7.     Buckingham Palace – we spent few hours here. We had a good time walking through the palace. Everything looks perfect, the curtain, the chair, the furniture. It is recommended to go. No camera allowed in the palace but outside is ok.

8.     Big ben – Always been pretty especially at night

9.     Trafalgar square -

10.   Tower bridge – One of our favourite too.

11.   Bath and stonehedge – We bought a bus tour ticket from an agent online. It took around 3 hours from London city to get to Stone hedge. It’s beautiful and worth the trip. We went to Bath the roman as well and it’s amazing. The architecture of the building is magnificent. Remember bought Umar’s first cloth at Disney in Bath. We only there for a short time but the small town is so beautiful. I think they were saying Johny Depp own one of the house there. It is recommended to go.

12.   Cruise – We went for hop on hop off bus tour on the last day and granted a ticket for Cruise. The cruise was awesome. I almost won’t want to go for the cruise because afraid that we will miss the flight. But I am delighted we went for the cruise and didn’t missed the flight.

13.   Mosque – We went to London mosque and had delicious nasi arab there. Lots of halal food in London and you obviously won’t get starve. Our favourite place always been Nando’s and Malaysian hall food in Bayswater.

14.   London Eye – Myself and husband afraid of height, definitely not going to the eye trip. But we went there just for visit.

I am glad both husband and Mas who never been to London enjoy this trip so much.

Barcelona the Babymoon

Barcelona the babymoon

Travel date : 8 to 10 July 2011

Weather : very warm summer

Aristol Hotel : Hop On Hop Off bus line

I was 13 weeks pregnant when we went to Barcelona. Sorry hubby I do remember being lazy and crancky( cried for no reason). But that’s ok because we happy with the fact that we expecting a baby boy.

Places of interest

1.     Sagrada di Familia – I think hubby not interested with this one because it’s a churh. But I’ve been here with Rhea before. Might cover this one in that entry later.

2.     Camp Nou – Hubby love this. I think it cost €20 each for entrance. Does not matter as long as he’s happy with the museum tour.

3.     Parc Guell – This place is amazing. Parc Güell is a large garden with architectural elements, located in the upper part of Barcelona. It was designed as a housing development by the architect Antoni Gaudí, the greatest exponent of Catalan Art Nouveau, at the behest of the businessman Eusebi Güell. It was built between 1900 and 1914 and inaugurated as a public park in 1922. In 1984, UNESCO included Parc Güell within the “Works of Antoni Gaudí” Human Heritage Site.

4.     La Ramlas – Food heaven. Lots of tropical fruits like watermelon, mango, pineapples

5.     Placa Cataluya

6.     Beach – Lots of halal food at the beach. I think it’s called Barceloneta. I remember it was a really warm sunny day when we were there. We come often to have dinner here.

7.     Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau – Our hotel is very close to this hospital. The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is one of the most representative works of the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner, a contemporary of Gaudí who also designed the Palau de la Música. The architectural site was declared a Human Heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.

8.     Olympic Port - Hosting the Olympic Games in 1992 involved a tremendous urban transformation for the city. The construction of the Olympic Village was the most radical transformation, accompanied by the recovery of part of the seafront, bringing new beaches to the city and creating a new marina: the Olympic Port. Nearby, there is a large area of restaurants and two of the most significant buildings of Olympic Barcelona: the Mapfre Tower and the Hotel Arts, which, due to their heights and significance, are two of the icons of the Barcelona of today.

We actually take the bus tour during the short trip. The main reason is this pregnant lady is too lazy too walk. But we actually cover a lot during the trip.
